New system for the University of Twente

New SPECS FlexNAP system at the University of Twente, Netherlands

Near Ambient Pressure and high energy XPS is the key technology to understand the physical and chemical properties of devices for energy transformation and renewable energy storage.

At the University of Twente, the Operando HAXPES and UHV PLD Lab, headed by Gertjan Kost and Chris Bäumer, is equipped with the latest state of the art SPECS FlexNAP system, featuring the new µFOCUS 450 triple color x-ray source and the operando electrochemical device simulator.

Dr. Chris Baeumer, the leader of this user facility says:

“The operando HAXPES machine is a national user facility, made possible through a 2,2 million euro grant from the 'NWO-large' programme of the Dutch Research Council, for large investments in innovative lab equipment. Scientists from the Netherlands, Europe, and around the world are invited to join us in exploring the new pathways provided by operando HAXPES.”
