HIS 14 HD
The HIS 14 is an advanced, yet easy to use small spot UV light source with long time proven design.
The HIS 14 HD lamp is based on the HIS 13 with an additional focussing mirror. The focussing mirror provides ideal conditions for high resolution ARPES: a spot size of 180 µm enabling high angular resolution with classical ARPES analyzers and at the same time delivering a photon density which allows for angular resolved photoemission spectroscopy close to synchrotron performance level.
The HIS 14 HD can be focused down to 180 µm or better for a high photon flux density and small emission spot. Conventional analysers benefit from a small photo-electron emission spot equally as microscopes with an intrinsic small field of view.
Using a conventional ARPES analyser, a small spot UV source increases the effective angular resolution, providing sharper band strutures. Small spot analysers and microscopes benefit from the increased photo-electron yield, if the light spot is equal or smaller than the field of view. In this case no artificial loss due to undetected photo-electrons is observed.
