Congratulations to Miquel Salmeron

Celebrated his 75th birthday this year

Miquel Salmeron, Senior Staff Scientist at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory and Adjunct Professor of Materials Science and Engineering at the University of California at Berkeley celebrated his 75th birthday this year. This has been celebrated by a Symposium in his honor with the title: ā€˛Surface and Interface Science: From Vacuum to Operando".
It took place on Friday, September 13, 2019 at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, Berkeley, CA. His contributions to the field of surface science and surface reactions, especially the development of different operando techniques, have been of major importance to the scientific community.

He has always been a valuable consultant, also to SPECS, and has been a source of inspiration to us for more than 10 years in the development of Near Ambient Pressure SPM and XPS. We are very thankful for this and we are looking forward to continue this collaboration into the future.

Miquel, thank you very much, all the best and Happy Birthday.
